Kon’nichiwa! This is me, posing and enjoying what the true mix of traditional and modern culture, Japan, has to offer. There are many things to discuss on this part of my many trips around the world, but I’ll get straight to the point because everyone wants to know: what are the top places to see and do (while taking some Instagram-worthy photos) and what am I wearing and where you can get them. There’s a lot of areas to cover during my stay in Japan, so enjoy as you follow @TravelStyleBug!
“9 hours” of resting in a capusule!
We arrive at Kyoto and we booked at this really cool (and inexpensive) hotel called 9 Hours. Living up to its name, you would only stay at the hotel overnight and leave early morning. I had mixed feelings because they provided me with a specific code with robe with all of the essentials and it made me feel like a prisoner. When I got to my “room” it was much more spacious than I thought as you can see below. The capsule included a charging station for your phone with an annoying alarm clock to basically kick you out of the room. It was an interesting experience, to say the least, but it was only $40, so if you’re just looking to crash in Kyoto, then I highly recommend this!

It’s their way to reserve this over-saturated country. You will be fined if you smoke, litter or even split on the floor. Don’t worry, they have a ton of garbage cans around the city and designated smoke areas.

TIP OF THE DAY:
- We were excited to go to Universal Studios in Osaka until we realized that it was March Break…AH! We even got there at 8am and it was a 45-minute wait just to get a ticket at the main gates. When we got in, all of the major attractions were filled with children and we were thinking, “where are their parents”? There was even a 300-minute (5-hour) wait at one of the Harry Potter rides. So my point is, make sure you look at Japanese holidays that don’t interfere with your travelling plans!
